Step 2
CIREN Specialist Review
After receiving the medical records, NeuroCuba coordinates the preliminary review with the appropriate specialists at CIREN.
The specialists review the patient's medical history, diagnosis, medications, imaging, examinations and other available medical information.
When appropriate, a telemedicine consultation can be arranged so that the patient and family can communicate directly with the specialist before traveling to Cuba.
Telemedicine is for medical assessment and discussion before travel. The treatment program itself is conducted in person in Cuba.
Step 3
Travel to Cuba
If the CIREN specialists recommend an in-person evaluation, NeuroCuba assists the patient and family with the arrangements for traveling to Cuba. The proposed program is approximately 4 weeks in Cuba:
Week 1 — Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluation
The first week is dedicated primarily to comprehensive medical evaluation, diagnostic studies, specialist assessment and confirmation or clarification of the patient's condition.
During this week, CIREN specialists determine:
- The patient's neurological condition
- Relevant diagnostic findings
- Functional and cognitive status
- Previous treatment response
- Appropriate therapeutic possibilities
- Whether the patient is suitable for the proposed restorative program
- The specific objectives for the treatment period
The first week is therefore an essential part of the program because the medical team uses the evaluation results to establish the appropriate treatment strategy.
Weeks 2–4 — Intensive In-Person Treatment
Following the first week's evaluation, the patient proceeds with approximately three weeks of intensive in-person treatment, provided that the CIREN specialists determine that treatment is medically appropriate.
The treatment is personalized according to the patient's condition and may include appropriate neuro-restorative and rehabilitation therapies available through the CIREN program.
The intensive rehabilitation program may be approximately 7 hours per day, Monday through Friday, with a half-day on Saturdays, according to the CIREN program and the patient's individualized treatment plan.
The treatment objectives are established by the medical specialists following the first week's assessment.
Cuban Medical Treatment
Neuralcim (NeuroEPO)
Where medically indicated, the CIREN medical team may also consider Neuralcim (NeuroEPO) as part of the patient's therapeutic options.
Neuralcim is a Cuban-developed pharmaceutical treatment administered as a nasal preparation. Its use must be determined by the treating medical specialists based on the patient's individual medical condition.
If Neuralcim is recommended, NeuroCuba can assist with coordinating the necessary medical information, treatment arrangements and, where permitted, arrangements for continued treatment after the patient returns home.
Neuralcim is not guaranteed for every patient. NeuroCuba does not claim that Neuralcim cures or reverses Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease. Any use is determined solely by the treating specialists based on individual medical suitability.

Step 2
Specialist Review
The medical documentation is submitted for review by the appropriate Cuban specialists at CIREN. The specialists determine whether the patient's medical situation may be appropriate for further remote specialist consultation and whether a treatment option can be considered without the patient traveling to Cuba.
Step 3
Telemedicine Consultation
If the specialists approve a remote consultation, NeuroCuba coordinates a telemedicine/video conference between the patient and the appropriate Cuban medical specialist.
The purpose of the consultation is to:
- Review the patient's medical history
- Discuss the submitted diagnostic information
- Clarify the patient's current condition
- Discuss available therapeutic options
- Determine whether continued treatment may be appropriate
- Explain the recommended medical plan
Step 4
Medication / Neuralcim
If, following specialist assessment, the CIREN physician determines that Neuralcim (NeuroEPO) is medically appropriate for the patient, the physician may prescribe or recommend it according to the applicable medical requirements. NeuroCuba can then assist with coordinating the medication arrangements. Where legally and medically permitted, the medication may be arranged for delivery to the patient using specialized pharmaceutical/medical cargo services, with appropriate packaging, documentation and temperature-control requirements where applicable.
Medication availability, prescription requirements, importation, customs clearance and international shipment are subject to medical, pharmaceutical and legal requirements in the patient's country. Medication shipment is not guaranteed.
